Groupe Gergonne announces the sales of its DIY and Professional activities to 3M France

Groupe Gergonne announces the signature of an agreement for the acquisition of its DIY and
Professional Division by 3M France.
The companies concerned are the following :
- The DIY and Professional activity of the Company GPI in Veyziat, France
- Plasto Adhésif in Dijon, France
- Dinac, in La Mure, France
- Oyobrico, a distribution subsidiary located in Barcelona, Spain
The operation should be completed in the fourth quarter, subject to finalisation of details between the two parties and observance of legal requirements.
The project has been built on the foreseeable strong synergy between the GPI, DIY and Professional Division and the 3M Group, that wishes to develop its activities in the DIY and Professional markets in Europe. The merger of these two groups, augurs well for the future. It should also immeasurably improve service for the clients in the distribution sector when in addition to the present advantages of GPI, those of 3M, notably its capacity to innovate, unrivalled international presence and production capacity for its strategic products are included. It should be noted that all production locations have been taken over in their entirety by the buyer.
The industrial activities of the Gergonne Groupe will not be concerned by this project :
- Industrial Activity of GPI : Industrial Adhesive Tapes and Die-Cut components in Oyonnax andVineuil in France
- Technis in Polliat, France : Manufacture and Design of specialised machinery
- GPI Espagne, located in Sant Andreu de la Barca, Spain : Die-Cut components
- GPI México, located in Tlalnepantla, Edo. Mexico : Die-Cut components
- GPI Slovensko, located in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia : Die-Cut components
- GPI Polska, located in Krakow, Poland : Die-Cut components
- GPI Chine, located in Wujiang, China : Industrial Adhesive Tapes
For a transitory period, Gergonne Groupe, industrial activities will continue to operate using the GPI brand name. A change of name is envisaged at a later date.
The remaining industrial division, Adhesive Tapes and Die-cut components, entirely owned by the Gergonne Family, intends to reinforce and accelerate its development on the industrial markets. There has been strong growth on these markets, (+42%) over the last three years.
The development of ever-more-technical products and a sustained investment policy, will be the driving motors of these ambitions both in France and internationally.
